You could see if it's feasible to do *just the ceiling* in this stuff. It's expensive compared to regular drywall (between $50 and $120 a sheet, although it's hard to pin it down) but if my math isn't completely out to lunch all you'd need is five 4x12 sheets to cover a (assuming "slightly less than" after framing) 12x17 ceiling.
If you could get that amount for a couple of hundred bucks (it installs like drywall so you'll save tons by installing it yourself) then for that pretty reasonable price the sound barrier between you and the CFO would be as good as it's realistically going to get in a residential space.
Roxul SafeNSound is excellent value for insulation, and it works great.
