I've been listening to the CD I just mixed in a CD carousel in rotation with
a number of other CD's of the same genre and other genre's from commercial
studios. These are CD's that get radio airplay. I've still got a few more
tweaks to do to get me happy on 3 out of 12 songs but for all practical
purposes, all of these these songs could be played on the radio. That's what
I've been shooting for since I started this little journey. So much of my
learning process over the years has been right here.

I owe you guys (past and present) a lot.

Thanks,

Deej

Deej,

I'm very happy for you. It couldn't happen to a simpler guy! ;-)

I can't thank you enough for all the sleepless nights trying to figure out
how %^ck you came up with the concept and implementation of your rig. Also,
have to say thanks for the tip on the SE Gemini!

Congrats!

Mark

...........well........pretty soon you guys can listen to me flounder around
learning how to play a musical instrument again and compose music. I used to
do this, but it's been almost 10 years. Now that I've got somewhat of a
handle on this engineering stuff, I'm getting the urge to compose music/play
instruments again. It may not be too inspiring, but it's bound to be funny.

If you can post a clip of a song as an example and give the details of how
and why you got the sound (input chain/plugs/setings etc.. and why) it would
really help... always looking to learn from a master ... and congrats from
your description sounds like you nailed it!!

Tony Benson has posted MP3's of the songs on his website:

http://www.mercysakes.com/paris/Doug%20Joyce/Tim%20Sullivan- Road%20To%20Para
dise/

I'll be posting up track notes once I remix a few of the songs. The final
tweaks haven't been done yet, but these were burned to the CD for the
release party. They will be remixed/remastered over the next month. One
thing of interest on the songs 1969 and Love Me tonight are the piano's.
Love Me tonight is the Bosendorfer 290 from East West and 1969 is using the
Steinway D from the Ivory VSTi.

Check out the songs My Best Friends and The Big V is you want a chuckle.

Cheers,

Deej

Nice work, Deej... really nice.

I think you need to post signal chains & mix notes for all that
stuff... or at least those two tracks you pointed out.

Seriously - I think a lot of people would enjoy that.

Thanks Neil,

The story of how this project came about is a long one. It was almost 4
years years in the making, starting at my first residence/studio here in
Durango back in the spring of 2002 where some of the first tracks were cut.
Once I get the final mixes done and mastered, I'll take the time to post up
the track notes/signal path, etc, song by song. It will take a while to do,
but I want to do it so I'll get around to it. BTW, Ed Stasium was nice
enough to do all of the micing for the drums on this project. I owe him one
for that.

Cheers,

Deej
