Mike,
You have the fever. What you are describing is exactly what I went through
a couple of years ago.
It took me over two years of searching, pleading and prying to get together
the bits and pieces to be able to build these things.
Then a couple months figuring out the framework, and another month or so
the ESP2 assembler. The fun really began when I started doing entire new
control sets and uis to go with new plugs, sadly I was never able to release
them. If we can figure out a way to get Bill Mauchly some revenue for everything
he did for me/us, maybe I can pass them along and you can finish them off.
They don't need much work, and its a package of four really nice plugs,
the highest quality algos and UIS possible for PARIS.
Anyways, keep it up dude.
On the Mac front, I was never able to get a mac build of anything, on any
mac, or any version of code warrior, until Bill Mauchly mailed me an original
Ensoniq PowerPC mac clone with the entire build environment intact, and a
couple sample projects.
Please email me your address, it won't be immediate, cause I have to find
the time, but I will give you this mac and ship it to you.

As for Bill, I'd be happy to set up an OS Commerce store that just sends the
cash to him. I haven't worked with the latest version of it, but I hear
it's easier than the old ones, and they were pretty simple. I'd be happy
to call him.

The biggest bug in the plugs was that I could never get the Precision Limiter
to work on multi card systems. There were some deep cover, bad voodoo bugs
that manifested themselves when the card streams were summed, and somehow
affected the limiter. I can tell you this, on a single card system I've
never heard anything that could do what this plug can do on the mix bus.
It was astounding. The other bug relates to using the keyed gate with wires,
but I think we'll have to live with those unless you can come up with an
alternative to wires.
Bill has paypal, so it should be pretty easy to get him payments. I used
to give him a cut of all sales back in the day because he was instrumental
in walking me through getting a build.

The precision limiter, a high quality stereo mastering limiter
The keyed gate, a gate that operates on a key signal from another channel
An audio destruction plug that allows you to change the bit depth, sample
rate and add a pre and post eq that is the rawest paris eq ever. It's really
for a specific genre that's looking for lo-fi effects. For example, it can
do a perfect telephone connection, megaphone, etc. It can also add scratchy
grit, alias effects, etc.
Fomr Matt Craig, both reverbs from the DP/PRO complete with 100% translated
effects presets. These verbs get near sample accurate cancel with verbs
from the hardware DP/PRO when using the same preset.

I would love to work on that limiter. I just coded a crossover from a math
equation in ESP assembler this morning. I feel up for it.
