I'm sure they said absentee, but like I said, I wasn't really paying
attention until I heard that comment, then they quit talking about it. :>(
It just struck me wrong, that this would be the case.

For absentee ballots returned on or before election day I do not believe
that is the case.
They are counted with a scanning machine in the county where I vote,
which has its own problems, but is probably less hackable than a touch
screen machine and has the advantage of the original paper ballot for
manual recounting as needed.

I did some checking and it looks like that was bogus info from the radio. At
least the federal absentee web site seems to indicate that absentee ballots
will be counted.
