Thanks for the info Carl. As best I can tell, our setups are the same. On
a separate note, somehow I'm not able to patch mr of the mixer to input 4
of the MEC Master. I get a message saying "Could not make the patch connection.
The input point is already connected to an output". I have removed an reastblished
the modules, but keep getting that message. Even so, I still have significant
volume when routing any other way. I can increase the gain level, but cannot
take it to 0db.

I have found that if I engage the DIM button it will take enough gain off
to remove the distraction of CR level and mic leakage (I work alot in headphones
when tracking, while checking CR levels from time to time)...which will get
me through my session, but still would like to get to the bottom of this.

Just a thought... you do have the output levels set to +4... yes?

If you want LESS output, switch to -10. To mute using V3, press the
dim switch twice in quick succession.

Yeah, David is correct - if you want lower volumes - double click on the MEC
Master A, and select your outputs down to -10dB.

Great idea David. I did some tests and although the levels were even lower
at minus 10, I'm good to stay at +4. It seems as though the only way to achieve
0db from the C16 is via the SPDIF output. I'm curious as to why this is the
case, but my session is definitely manageble.

With the monitor pot at 12:00, and the dim switch off, you will have
"unity gain" with what is sitting at the output of the global fader.
The dim switch takes things down 20dB. The monitor pot actually
reduces digital resolution, so it's best to leave it at 12:00. If you
are still having problems getting the levels low enough, I would
suggest a nice passive volume control instead like the NHT PVC.

I'm with you all the way David. Once I get my o2r back, the problem will be
resolved. In the mean time, I can live with it, just gotta figure out how
run a talk back to the headphones...or maybe just holler through the door
;-)
