Hey guys, in a bit of a pinch and could use some assistance. While I have
used WaveLab in the past for mastering audio files, I have never used it
to burn the files I created. Let me go a step further to explain my motivation.
I am using the "File Attributes" que within WaveLab to compile the data of
the song...i.e., artist, writers, genre, etc. Once completed, I can pull
up the data viewing window’s properties, but the data is not transferred
when writing via my Nero burner…I get “Artist Unknown” and labels of Track
01, Track 02, etc when viewing the contents of the burned CD.
So I figured I must burn the CD within WaveLab in order for this data to
be viewable in Windows Media player, Itunes, IPods, etc. Hope I'm halfway
clear here...sorry for the ignorance...reading the PDF BTW, but not making
a great deal of progress and have time restraints involved.
Any and all comments welcomed.

I went through this not too long ago. What your writing in Wavelab is CD text.
That will show up in CD players that support CD text. Windows media player,
itunes, etc. get the info from CDDB or freedb (online databases). You have
to submit a form to get that happening.

Hey Rod, nice to chat with you...been a while. In reading your response, I’m
still a bit perplexed. If you can embed the data within WaveLab, why would
you not be able to burn it onto a CD?

As Rod mentioned, the artist, title, song etc info that Itunes or Media
Player picks up comes from the internet, not the CD itself. The
"FACTORY PRESSED" CD has a unique serial number that the software hits
the internet looking for. Once retrieved, the song titles display. Try
putting that same CD into a computer with no internet connection and see
what happens.
The CD text info that you are entering is not part of the CD "book
standard" and can only be read by CD players specially build to extract
that information.

Ok, I'm on the Roxio website...just starting, but it seems like this will
do the job. Any users here?

Roxio is very good for PC .It does DVD,and CD burning.

Thanks! Have you used the "text" feature like CDDB and FREEDB and does it
translate to the CD properly?
