Hi guys,

Lately my Paris has been hanging up after quiting and not clearing the task manager. It didn't matter if I had opened one project or 23 projects for the session. WinXP SP2 IE7 v3.0

When I ended the process (Paris.exe) via task manager, I got a blue screen every time. If I didn't end the process I got a blue screen when shutting down the computer.

Problem turned out to be that when I recently reinstalled Paris and subsystems I forgot to change the default project to "de-select" the C16 pro. I'm glad it was that simple and not some XP update issue.

Another indication that pointed to the C16 was that I was not able to enable "track record" via the C16 and the "mute/dim" lite acted weird. Everything else worked fine.

Just a reminder us Parisites, that the C16 select feature in the settings is more important than I realized.

I'll wiki this as a potential "heads up" as soon as I get a chance - thanks!

Hi,
The two c16 modes just re-map some buttons. There is no difference between the two units, except for the paint. I think this is a false positive.

I suspect that you are using the old Windows XP driver, because mine doesn't blue screen the machine if you force quit PARIS.

Let me know if I can help more by emailing me from ensoniq.ca.

All the best,

mike

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the clarification. I don't run any VST/DX so I also disabled DX in Paris. Ran great for 8 hours yesterday.
