so my paris system i bought on ebay came loaded with 2 eds cards on a mac g4. a c16 and fully loaded mec. well it didnt work. it froze whenever i opened it on the mac. I never could get the c16 to power on either.

so i decided today to install it on my XP PC...well that doesnt work either. It shut down my pc 3 times just upon opening it, the c16 still doesnt light up and where do I get the response to the challenge from? I'm assuming support@intdevices.com ?
I followed the instructions on mike audets multicore driver cdrom, and i also followed this page as well: http://www.kerrygalloway.com/WikiPARIS/wikka.php?wakka=WinXp DriverInstallDoc

this is so frustrating. i spent about $2100 on this system and its still not working.

i dont know what is wrong with this paris system that i bought, but its been a nightmare. i bought it about a year ago and its been nothing but a headache. the mec and the c16 look brand new with no scratches at all.

can anyone help me out?

Hi Nainoa,

The fact that PARIS is locking up your whole PC when you try to load it up is worrying. I rewrote sections of the scherzo driver very carefully so that the driver could not do that. You may have a hardware problem. It could be as simple as a bent pin on one of the SCSI cables that connects an MEC or 442 to the EDS cards, or you could have a bad card or interface. My suggestion is to install only one card in your system and see if you can get a simple, one card system working. If the first card you try doesn't work, try the other one. If neither work, try a different interface, etc.

As for the challenge response, just send an email to support@intdevices.com. They should get back to you quickly.

I'm sorry that you've had such trouble. This can be resolved, though!

All the best,

Mike

Ahh - don't know if this is a possible culprit, but - did you remember to update your PACE drivers as well? The version of PACE that shipped with the PC version of PARIS is a disaster waiting to happen.
