What's the longest scsi cable I can use for MECs? [message #104157]

Planning out how things will be arranged with the new rig, and allowing for future installation of the pcs on a rack outside the planned studio walls.

I'm going to need 15' video, usb, and firewire cables. What's the longest scsi cable I can use with a MEC, and where do you recommend I get 'em? Monoprice has 10', but that's the longest.

On the other hand, maybe I just rearrange the audio racks so the MEC's are closest to the computer area and limit it to 10'. Once they're aligned and trimmed, I shouldn't have to touch them, only need to monitor the input lights.

Hi,

Maximum i saw was 5m, therefore 16'.
64 euros !

I think your second option is about right, and you will get rid of the fancy MEC's fan noise (wich i unplugged by the way).

I use 10's myself which I got here: http://www.computercablesource.com/scsi-2-cables-external-29 8.html
They have up to 22's. I don't think I'd go much over 15' though...
