Hi folks. There's been a lot of feverish work in the background. A picture's worth a thousand words, so here's an example of where AATranslator's developer Michael Rooney has got to already in the translation of PARIS OMFs:

index.php?t=getfile&id=706&private=0

index.php?t=getfile&id=707&private=0

That's just to Reaper - it'll translate to a bunch more formats than that.

So far, all segments now seem to be showing up, all files translating, track assignments correct (found and are correcting one glitch now), fade lengths and locations correct (fade types need proper identifying), automation has been found but won't be in this release - that'll be for a later subrelease depending on interest from the community.

Suffice to say - I could use it internally right now to translate my PARIS files into Reaper, since I could correct any errors on the spot. But obviously the goal to aim for is to have this solid enough that someone could send an OMF out to a mix facility and have it open correctly when they're not there.

Michael can't test it - he doesn't have access to a PARIS rig to compare before and afters. So although he can happily fix what we tell him needs fixing, we must do testing, and our support will be as solid and as reliable and as thorough as our testing is. I bought my AATranslator license already, and am testing in every corner of spare time I can find, but I'm swamped (I'm in Vancouver BC and as you might have noticed we've got this "Olympics" shindig going on) - we could use help.

So if you want this nailed so you can rely on it, come help us test and polish it. OMF support is usually in the $99 "Enhanced" version of AATranslator (that and PT5 support), but Michael is including PARIS OMF support in the $59 "Standard" version for PARIS users, so be sure to include "PARIS" in the header of your purchase. Grab a license today, help out by making a few OMFs, translating them and reporting any issues, and let's finally nail OMF export once and for all.
