Big Ben Setup Question - 2 MECs [message #106890]

Hi,

I recently purchased a Big Ben it seems to be working with my 'master' MEC, but not with the slave. I have connected it two different ways as follows:

1) Big Ben set at 44.1 Khz, WC out 1 and 2 plugged into MEC "Master" input and MEC "Slave" input.

2) Big Ben set at 44.1 Khz, WC out 1 into MEC "Master" input, and MEC "Master" output into MEC "Slave" input.

I had the same results with connecting it both ways as follows:

- MEC "Master" will configure to the External Word Clock at 44.1 Khz.

- MEC "Slave" is configured to Internal clock at 48 Khz.

Any suggestions?

IIRC the readout of MEC slave is not relevant when using an external clock ie- it doesn't matter what it says, it will function as you specify in the project window.

Also - pretty sure it's best to use your 1st setup. Passing clock signal through any other audio devices in a daisy chain setup can jumble it making the use of an external clock of no real value...
