I sold my HD rig and went back to PARIS full time.
I put my RME 9652 in another machine running Reaper 4 but my sync seems off.
Do I need to go back to Reaper 3.71 or should I stay in 4?

How are you syncing PARIS to Reaper? In my own experience, I've had problems syncing Reaper in any version to an external MIDI device.

that's the same method I used when I had Paris up and running a year or so ago.

3 for sure and possibly the first version of 4...pulled the plug on my music room in December of 2011 if that helps determine if I was on 4

Here is the content of an email I got from another Paris user on syncing Paris with Reaper. This was sent Tues March 27, 2012.

"- right-click on the transport bar in Reaper (you may have to try in a few different places)
- scroll up the resulting menu to about the fourth entry from the top - "external timecode synchronization", which is a submenu
- select "synchronization settings".
- Once you have that dialog open, tick "enable synchronization to timecode"
- in "use input:" choose APP (ASIO Positioning Protocol).

Start PARIS; Reaper should chase it immediately with decent latency, and stop when you stop PARIS.

Your ADAT connections should be pretty much automatic - check your ADAT cables, and make sure you don't bridge across MECs at first (ie 8 channels from one MEC and 8 from another to the RME) until you get the hang of the connections. Let me know if that helps. "

Perhaps this sheds some light on things for you.

Ted

I am just starting using an RME to stream audio in and out of Paris but so far using Paris V2.1 no joy.
Patchbay won't let me patch adat card to mixer and I'm not getting any audio from Reaper.
I am wondering if I have to use Paris V3 to get this to work ?
Any input would be much appreciated.
Meanwhile I may try moving cards around in MEC as I have to do that anyway.
