o that the first click starts right at the top.
Enable Grid.
set the tempo to be 8/4, or even 16/4.. you'll get better resolution doing
it this way.
Now, adjust the tempo in the project window until the last click is dead on
the beat

Done.

Surely you're editor of choice can do something similar??

tings,
but I could spend days trying to lock it & still have some
drift, considering all that. I'm gonna program the drums in the
Fantom at 81 BPM, re-play the rhythm guitar part for him on
another track for reference, so he knows where I'm at in the
song for each drum pattern or fill, etc.; and then he can re-
track the rhythm part on his end once he dumps in the drums to
play along with. At this stage that's all he's recorded (the
rhythm part along with his click) so it's not like they'll have
to toss bass track, vox, etc.

Still... ARRRGH! If they were working in ANY kind of DAW it
would be easier - could import scratch tracks, MIDI, etc.

NeilHey Deej,

Thanks a bunch for the suggestions.

It's getting kinda hard to find the Steinberg Midex 3's as they've been discontinued
(so have the Midex 8's) but they're usually in the $120 to $150 range if
you can find them. The super tight midi sync apparently only happens with
Steinberg software though. Why wouldn't I just be able to use the midi in
on the Sierra/Dakota rig at the Tracktion machine and a Midex (or something
like it) on the Paris box?

I might just sell the Dakota/Sierra rig. It's kinda overkill for what I'm
doing anyway. I'm thinking about picking up an Emu 1212m
and a o

and sound quality get the RME HDSP9632. The on board Midi
works quite well. The Emagic MT4 wil work fine but aren't you tired of
buying doscontinued or soon to be discontinued gear! :)

ChrisI used to be 3 x pack a day guy. Just being in the same vicinity as
cigarette smoke nowadays makes me ill. There's nothing worse than a
reformed smoker.

;oP

If I need nostalgia, I can just open up the top of my '61 Ampeg B-15
cabinet. That thing must have lived in a smoky bar for the 40 years before I
bought it.

It took me about week to get enough of the stink off the thing that I could
abide even having it in the house. Still, the smell has permanently
permeated the wood of the cabinet..

Brings back old memories.

;o)

Anyone can have a cig with their beer. In cities that care about the
dangers smoking poses to public health, they'll have to do it at home.

In cities where the policy is to allow second hand smoke, those who want
to drink a beer in peace without breathing poisonous air will have to
drink at home.

Random thought: I wonder which policy results in fewer drunk drivers?

There's always the propaganda that if smoking is banned, bars and
restaraunts will lose business. In some cases that's true. But overall
it's not. Turns out that a lot of people enjoy breathing.

Glad to hear you've been off cigs for a while.

Cheers,

It might not be partitioned yet. Go to a command prompt and type FDISK.
Enable large disk support and set it up as a single partition.
Might have to reboot, then format.

in the tattoo world. He has done Kid Rock and others. His work is, well
....kinda sick!!! check out his work at: www.bobtyrrell.com

I've seen the Randy Rhoads, SRV, and a different Jimi Hendrix than the one

disk. When you run fdisk, remove all partitions and create one 120gb
partition. Marks advice about disconnecting all other hard drives is
excellent advice too. Don't forget that master/slave jumpers may have
to be changed if you remove drives temporarily.

Last time I saw alice cooper it was so smokey i was physically ill the
next day from being in a wall of smoke for 4 hours. Some of us really
don't get to see a lot of great acts due to smoke. So now I see mostly
outdoor events or non-smoking venues of which we have 2. But hey, life
is great.
