As usual, it’s been a light-year since I last posted. Still recording on
a huge PARIS system, and still wondering why I’m still doing it. Thought
I’d check into the board
to see what’s been going on with the group………….
Well, I don’t see much PARIS discussion going on – a lot of bashing, trashing,
and shit-tons of OT, but not much PARIS. For someone like me who likes to
pop in occasionally and see what the group is up to (and make sure people
are still alive and using this product), it’s a little disheartening.
This board is really the only place that I can go to make sure that this
product is still in use, and still loved by at least a small community. It’s
also the only form of “technical support” left on the planet. It’s especially
sad when you realize that the top brains on this forum could EASILY form
their own company doing something like PARIS, and would have an immediate
client-base at hand.
There’s an idea – instead of bashing the crap out of each other, why don’t
you all pull your resources and start a DAW company – I know everyone on
this forum would be behind that.I can say that I wish I knew someone who is thriving is this economy.The folks
in the upper levels who trhrive on Greed are.
The Music business I used to thrive on is in Shambles and it is not safe
for anybody who wants to make a living to depend on it.It is based on the
greediest of the greedy right now.

had the exact opposite of nightmares - an even deeper and more
trusting faith in God. (Very timely... two months later, I was
diagnosed with an incurable cancer). The only downside to the stents
is that pastrami is now off my diet. And pizza. But here in Alaska,
neither are worth eating anyway. Ain't no Carnegie or Totonno's in
this neighborhood.
Nappy, I would assume that, if you are having nightmares, they are
related to stress. Certainly you are in one of the scariest emotional
places any of us could find ourselves.
Be very encouraged: I have several friends that have gone through
kidney transplants - one just a year ago, the others over the last
decade. They are all thriving and lead virtually the same lives they
have led all along.

It's that blanket mentality and generalization of people ie: "The French"
that undermine the human race.
If you think that US foreign policy (or any country for that matter)
has been Ivory clean throughout history, you are either extremely
ignorant or just in denial.
I disagree with a lot of French and US foreign policy and may disagree with Bush,
but I wouldn't make a statement that "Americans are Assholes" because
that's just not true. I would bet that the average French person and American
have the same heart, politics aside. Once people realize that it may actually open
some constructive dialog.
I am sure there are French Paris users here, and you are adding nothing constructive
to this forum. Grow up.

I've got a couple of WD1600jb drives that I purchased some time ago
to use as audio drives for Paris, running under win98.
I had no problems formatting them, but soon after commencing a job,
all hell broke loose. Cross-linked files everywhere.
I pulled the first and tried the second...same thing.
Never had this problem with any 120gb drives.
Is there something I am missing? Does 98 not like anything above
120gb? I have since used one of the drives in my cubase box
running XP, and there's no sign of any problems.
I hope I don't have to stick to 120's for my remaining Paris
years.

Kimgoing from memory, I think there has to be a patch applied that you can get
from microsoft for 98 to handle that size drive.
