I have upgraded many pieces of equipments for the last 6-7 years and I have

Always the bypassing of mains electrolytics gives a different sound.
With the right caps more frequencies are revealed and you can shape the spectrum
better.
Almost always the 0.01uF reveals highs and 0.1 mids.
1uF reveals lows.
In my Great River neither 0.1 or 0.01 did any difference but 1uF broght some
bass response I needed.
Note that I have Lundahl tranformers inside Great River MP which have great
mids but lack somehow in bass.
ADI-PRO8 mad a huge-hugest difference because I use the DA section for monitoring.
I have never heard any RME sounding like ADI-PRO8 after the mod.
What I did is changed the stock 4580 chips on channels 7,8 to LM6172 , bypassed
the output cpacitors on 7,8 with Wima 0.01 and made a big mod on power supply.
I changed mains capacitor from 50uF to 100uF and on separate circuit board
I put as bypassers.
0.01 Wima, 0.047 Wima, 1uF Wima, 10uF electrolytic 105o
Firstly I had a 0.1 instead of the new 0.047 but to correst some tinny boxiness
in sound I put the 0.047
Beleive me the sound has a huge difference.
A stock ADI-pro8 sounds warm (not much mids) and swett.
The new ADI-PRO sound s right oin your face with mids, highs and bass, perfect
imaging ,depth of space.
For the above some elements must be taken into consideration.
I have in my mains input just before voltage regulating with big polyester/polypropylene
(wima) capacit
