Trim gain control in Paris [message #69737]

Hi,
I'm attempting to set individual channel levels to +2db on a VU meter when
the channel is solod and the fader is cranked to +10. Unfortunately the only
VU plug in I have is native and so can only work on the inserts. Which means
I can't use an EDS comp to set the gain since they're post native inserts.
And the channel fader won't have any effect either. Still, figure I could
insert a native plug to control the gain before the VU meter plug. Any idea
what plug in I could use to do this without introducing artefacts and without
introducing unnecessary load on the CPU.

I could use Waves L2, though that will have artefacts (not necessarily a
bad thing) and increase CPU load.

Try a C1 with 1:1 compression

Hey you could use just a free volume vst plugin.
Do a simple google search and you will get one free without any cpu resourse
drawback !

Sounds like you've been reading "Mixing with your Mind"
The Paris vst eq has a trim and would work work well for that application

Hey Rod,
I have indeed! Most of Stav's advice seems to be pure gold (best money I
ever spent in the studio!), so I though I ought to give his VU mix trick
a spin too ... You had much luck with it? And how are you implementing it
through Paris? (with the VST eq and PSP meter?)
