So, after over 7 years with Paris I finally got around to using FreeForm mode
on my latest project recording the awesome percussionist Kofi Kari Kari for
what will be a an album with a new band Nero (English alternative folk with
hints of jazz/rock/classical/and more).

Woah. Freeform has seriously speeded up the editing and tracking process
- great when you're dealing with lots of alternative takes, or lots of takes
of the same thing thru multiple microphones.

Can't believe I didn't try it earlier. (I was afraid of switching back to
constrained mode and losing other takes; it never occured to me that I could
just leave it in freeform mode). For those who've not delved, it really doesn't
take long to get your head around...

Let us know how you're using it too.

Try setting a loop point about 5 seconds wider than you want and just loop
while recording (not punching in), then adjust the width of the objects to
taste. This way you get a nice lead and and can loop it 20 times till you
hit that golden vocal take.
