I mixed a project, thought I was done, moved it into a folder called
"done".
Artist listened, would like to hear the one guitar brought out some
more, so I went back in and opened the project up.
All the files and overviews show up, audio bin doesn't show any
orphans. I hit "play", and while the thing runs, and the now line
moves, I'm getting no meter action and no audio. Already checked the
patch bay. Tried resetting file path, tried resetting record path to
new folder.
Any ideas?

Check the null on your faders.
Do a save as, and see if the save as plays if you put the new file in
the original folder.
Reboot.

It might be a good idea to also check your patchbay settings and also
perhaps your EDS card assignments on the global mixer. Ehh - I'm not on a
mac tho'.

Oh and on occasion I've had to drop the sub master fader to -90 then back to
unity before I'll hear anything

I tried several of your suggestions, and after saving as "acousticx2"
instead of using the original ppj, making sure my recording path
matched, and closing/restarting Paris. I now have little green blinky
lights on screen and noise coming out of those speaker thingies.

Did you piss off a Voodoo Priestess at some point? I think you may be
cursed. ;>) Seriously, in the nearly 20 years I've been using Macs, I
haven't had even a fraction of the troubles you've had with that one
machine. If I could afford to do so, I'd send you out one of my (perfectly
normal working) Macs, and let you use it for a while. If my hypothesis is
correct, it should crash right after you turn it on. ;>)
What does loosing half the OS even mean??? Really, I'm curious as to how
that could happen. What were the symptoms, errors, etc.?

oh hell tony the original put me out of business mac is dead this is
the new core duo that replaced it. until this latest event it's
actually been pretty decent. i intentionally bought a refurb figuring
that it should work so i don't have a clue as to what' happened. i've
read that there has been an increase in the number of logic board
failures and if it loses it's mind again i'm going to take it in for
testing.

this is the new mac and has been doing quite well for the most part.
it's definitely better with logic than dp but i'm sure apple has
intentionally done something in that arena to get people to switch.
okay then, i'll cancel the case of microbrew beers i was going to
send...such a shame...sigh.
