The Alesis MasterControl is going to cost $800.00 street price. It will be
available in the spring. If it were $200 less it might have taken the market,
oh well. All these companies cut the corners in the wrong places. They
should put eight 1/4" analog inputs plus the two mic with combo connectors,
instead of six 1/4" inputs and two mic inputs. Yamaha was notorious for
doing this. They would come out with a $2500.00 workstation and put two
mic pres and four to six line inputs. Well, at least the Alesis has 16 light
pipe inputs.
It's still not clear how many layers the control surface has. This is another
area these guys don't get.
