I've got the AD/DA's wired in to the patchbay and most of my ADAT
connections accomplished. I'm distrubiting the clock of my Mytek A/D
converter using a Lucid Gen X 6, sending to everything else. It's clocking
like a dream. this is something that always concerns me. I have eliminated
about 2/3 of the massive cabling insanity I had going on here. Things are
still a bit messy and I've got a few more odds and ends that haven't shown
up yet, but I'm getting there. Very stable, sounds very good to my ears.
Getting those 4 x CRT's out of here has cooled the room down about 20
degrees and since I also moved the massive platform that they were sitting
on out of the room, it sounds a bit different....clearer and more open
(DOH!!!) so that's something I'll have to get used to but actually, I think
it's going to be an improvement in the acoustic environment. I seem to be
hearing with a bit more acuity, especially reverb tails and delays. These
are more obvious now in the new, less cluttered environment.

There must be half a mile of cabling of various kinds coiled up in various
parts of the control room right now. It's going to take me half a day to
sort it out and figure out what to do with it.

I'll probably have a cable sale in a couple of weeks, as soon as I'm sure
what I need and what I want to keep, just in case.
