converting pro tools... ugh.... [message #93091]

ok.... so I am working on a final mix for a guy and the place he tracked it
at gave us the PT file.. not OMF... so i cant import it direct into Paris....

is there ANYTHING that will open it short of another PT rig?

Hi Scott.. You'll have to either get a Cheap M-Powered version of Pro Tools
32 track playback, 128 track edit count.. OR have studio render(bounce) those
tracks down..

You'll be surprise bt how good Pro Tools sound and is really nice for mixing..

i was afraid you were going to say that....

I decided to mix in paris because the project could use some of the "special
sauce"... I got my rig out of moth balls and got it on a new clean machine
for this one... otherwise... would have mixed it in sequioa.

ya never know... I might start doing more with paris again... I got away
from it because I have been doing mostly broadcast material.

It;s pretty easy to bring in tracks..can you get them as whole bounced fles?

that is what I requested...i have ported all sorts of projects over to paris
in the past... just have them put a 1 second 1k tone at the front, that way
I can make sure everything is in proper alignment.....

but the guy who tracked it wanted to charge a ton to bounce the individual
tracks... and couldn't figure out how to export as an omf.... looks like
we are going the M-powered route...

Do you have the PT files on disc or where you can upload to an FTP server
(I have one ready)

if so I might be able to get then converted to wav for nothing by a friend
