I've been carrying an amp rack in my PA, so it was no big deal to
include an Ensoniq DP4, but now that I am using powered cabs I want to
trim down my rack and I'm looking for a good sounding half rack type
verb. Do any of the Alesis units sound good? I used to have those old
Lexicon half racks and they were OK, but not good IMHO.

Any recommendations?

What about this? http://www.behringer.com/FEX800/index.cfm?lang=ENG .
I have 3 different of their whole racks, where the quality spends from
ordinair to excellent.

I had an Alesis Nanoverb that was fine for live sound.

Hi Bill,

I've owned LXP 1 LXP 5 and Nanoverb. Nano is good enough for live sound
if it's just a dusting over vocals. It is thin sounding overall.

The LXPs are ok but nothing to write home about. The ddl in the LXP 5 =
with
modulation was very cool for solo guitars.

I'd check out the Behringer stuff as long as they fit in your rack and =
price range.

I have a Roland half rack reverb, forget the model number. something-50?
It's sufficient for live use. They had a couple models out.

Speaking of this kind of thing, anybody ever use the SoundArt Chameleon?
I'm involved with a small group that is making a second generation
Chameleon - I'm sure I could fit it into a half rack space...

1/2 rack? Try to ebay up the BOSS SE50 and SE70 series. Lot of horsepower to
tweak. The alesis stuff is ok, and the LXP were ok, but you need a decent
remote to set them up. As with all gear, the presets suck IMO.

I used to have a digitech msp4 that we used for live. It had a couple
choices that worked well for our semi acoustic direction. As I remember
it had one reverb called "superverb" that was, well. "super"
