Hi David
Thanks for the response. The ADAT card is already loaded in the
patch bay, inputs taking 1 - 8. 1- 8 outputs are connected
to the ADAT card too.
I am also using the S/PDIF send/return to feed an M3000 verb.
Is there a limitation here, prohibiting both digital in/outs
from being used simultaneously?

You should be able to use both with no problem. Are you trying to
insert onto channels using adat optical, or are you just trying to get
optical inputs from outboard conversion? Both need to be patched
differently.

Trying to pass audio from the ISA 428 ADC into Paris via ADAT
Optical. I've checked all the settings on the send end -
ADC Soft Limit on, bit depth, sample rate and clock source are all synchronized
with Paris - and the Adat card is in the Patch Bay with appropriate connections.
One thing I've noticed that seems a little funky re: word clock,
is that I can switch between 44.1 & 48 in a project and there's
no audible speed change. Shouldn't there be one? If so, is this a clue that
something in Paris re: clocking is wrong? I'm using a
Lucid as master to Paris and the Focusrite...

Hi Ted,
Sorry, I was away for the weekend...
If you are set to "internal" changing from 41 to 48 will create a speed
change. If you have word clock selected, the Paris sample rate display
is moot.
Assuming you have one MEC and one submix, run patch points from MEC
modules A to the Mixer inputs A. It is very important to make sure that
the Submix you are working on is assigned to the card that the MEC with
the adat module is tied to.

Thanks again for your help. Please don't apologize
for being away. I got the set up working, and am too embarrassed to tell
you what I was doing wrong!! Let's just say I was so
focused on ADAT issues, Sample Rates and a new Word Clock
set up that I missed the obvious...
The answer regarding sample rate change is very helpful, and
makes sense as I think about it.

By the way, I had Colin at the Audio Lab record that violinist
last Fall... he did a fine job.
