Hello out there! Trying to revive my Paris system using Mike's drivers in Windows 10 and an expansion chassis. Found a deal on this one:

Would this Magma chassis work with the EDS-1000 cards? It has PCI-X slots, not sure if that matters.

2nd issue: hoping someone might be able to help me find a copy of Paris 3 that will run on Windows 10-64 and bypass the PACE problems.

I bought a Magma Expansion Chassis this year so that I could run my PARIS system on modern computer hardware. I don't think the PE6R4-I will work. The plug and play solution is the P13R or the P7R4.

Magma is now sold by One Stop Systems in San Diego. (https://www.onestopsystems.com/). I called them and they worked with me directly to answer technical questions and get a cable that I needed.

Here's my post with details from from another thread, "A New Paris System":

Here's the Magma info in case you're interested:
You want either the 13 slot P13R or the 7 slot P7R4. With the 13 slot you'll also need a card that goes into the Magma chassis: PCIEIF68. That's the card that the cable attaches to on the Magma end. For the 7 slot Magma the cable connection on the Magma side is part of the chassis.

Other Magma chassis' look similar but might not fit the EDS card. I know for sure that some don't fit. The EDS card uses one of the earlier standards for a PCI card.

The cable you need is either the 1 m long CBL1HF or the 1.5 m long CBL1.5HF.

For the host computer you can get either a PCI or a PCIe card.
- PCI - PCIHIF68 (very similar number to the 13 slot Magma side card)
- PCIe - PEHIFX1

I got both for flexibility.

You can buy new at One Stop Systems for $2500, or go used on ebay for $300-500. I had to buy all the parts separately, and get the cable new.

No drivers were necessary. XP and Windows 10 recognized the hardware.

Thank for the reply, Rich. I've just educated myself in the history of PCI slots and learned the PCI-X standard doesn't work for us. I will keep my eye out for a deal on a compatible chassis.

Just waiting on a PCI-E firewire card (used currently on the Mac side for an Apogee ensemble interface to Logic Pro) to free up my one PCI slot on my Gigabyte Z97X-UD3H-BK board to at least get the Windows system going with a single EDS-1000 card set up for now. Unfortunately the EDS card is just too big, old and likely fragile to swap in and out as needed. Just tired of the time and headaches it takes to get mix files over to my aging OS 9 Mac G4 loaded with EDS and UAD-1 cards.
