I have a Mackie UAD1 which comes with LA2 and 1176LN as standard so it is
closer to Studio pack than to Project pack.
I also have a 442 Paris interface, a nice Oktava MC012 (upgraded with Toshiba
transistor and better caps) with LOMO head !~for that Neumann mic sound,
comes with -10 pad.
I also have a U-control UC-16 USB/midi controller.
I trade all these or part of it with Paris stuff like Mec (this only from
Europe due to expense and tax) EDS card, in/out cards.
Just make me an offer.
Regards,
DimitriosThanks

It originally came from the ensoniq paris DAW diplay that was at the music
store. Also in the same auction is the DVD with Brian Tankersley.

Thanks....BobHey guys! A customer of mine is looking for 2-3 Paris Adat cards. If you
have one to sell please let me know.

ile to load.

As many of you may be aware - Ribbon mics have a very different response
than conventional condenser mics. As a result , Ribbons capture sounds
in a very different way . Many engineers and producers use Ribbon mics
on guitar amps, brass instruments , string overheads and a variety of
situations where High Frequencies tend to be to brittle using

/> conventional mics. Distorted guitar is one of the best examples. Quite
often one tends to EQ the heck out of the track causing untold Phase
damage rendering it unable to sit well in any mix. Using a Ribbon is
perfect in this situation , the mic captures the sound naturally -
thus allowing the guitar to sit perfectly well in the mix without any
nastiness or brittle high end trash that one usually expects.

A brief overview of Ribbons - RCA was known for developing some of the
most popular Ribbon Mics the RCA 77DX and RCA 74B.
The vintage ribbon mics are Dynamic and use a 6 micron membrane, and
there are a number of low end mics that also use 6 micron. Developments
in the last 10 years have allowed thinner diaphragms to be practical to
produce and the newer more expensive ribbon mice have diaphragms ranging
from 3 microns to 1.8 (about the current limit). The thinner diaphragms
offer better impedance matching and superior high frequency response.
The inexpensive Ribbon mics often to have a higher impedance which this
does tends to make them low in output , a significant drop off in High
Frequency,a bit noisy and quite sensitive to cable
length and load from a preamp. Finding an optimal combination can be a
challenge.

The most popular Ribbon mic presently has been the Royer 2.5 Micron
membrane Model R-121.
We have measured the impedance to be @ 470 ohms (as opposed to the
published 300 Ohms)
These mics sell for Approx $1200 each
http://www.royerlabs.com/r_121.html

SE has used Royer among many others as a benchmark. In doing so, They
started out with a
6 micron Membrane Dynamic with the Clear goal of doing everything
Better than the rest.
Better High Frequency response, Higher output, Lower noise and Lower
impedance - 200 Ohms to be precise.
I Have Wave files recorded of the 6 micron prototype and 2 micron final
production model that I can email and or post.

SE managed to completely knock the Ball out of the park with this. And
in doing so , they have perfected
