The Shiny box mics are made by the same guys that
do nady,rode,blue, marshall etc...
Shang Hai Filo makes them all - I know the nady is 6 microns
and we had for comparisons , while its a ribbon - it really
is not close in performance at all to the royer or SE.

I'm not sure which Rode mics are made ( assembled ) there and which ones
are made by 797 Audio ( Studio Projects etc.. ),I'm sure their premium
mics are made in Australia as you found . I'll find out . Rode , like
many other companies assemble mics in various places due to labor costs
etc...

I saw the machining of the NT6 capsule as well as the NTG shotgun series and
also the NT-4 series.
They recently bought a MULTI million $$$ weapons grade milling machine from
Japan to manufacture capsules and the like.
