Now that my new PC is coming together (I'll start a separate thread on that), I'm really looking to explore a bit more of the feature set that Reaper may offer when integrated with Paris.

Here is my plan...let me know if there are flaws in it.

1. Hardware:
I've currently got a 3 EDS system, and will add a RME 9652. The RME will be connected to 2 ADAT cards in the MEC attached to my master card.

2. Workflow:
I'll track in Paris, and fly tracks into Reaper using the ADAT sync. I figure for small projects and quick demos I'll work exclusively in Paris, but for more complex editing and automation I'll move tracks over to Reaper.

I was thinking of bussing tracks in Reaper back out the RME 9652 and into the MEC ADAT cards. This would give me up 8 stereo (or 16 mono) busses which I could still control levels/overall EQ using the Paris control surface.

The keys to getting this to work will be tight sync between Paris and Reaper. I'm guessing that this way of operating isn't really anything new (Kerry, is this how your system is set up?). I'm looking for a little assurance before I dump $600 on an RME card + another ADAT mec card.

Cheers

Kris
