Terrific product. I have had a VSII virtual strobe, and now I have a
V-Sam and the software tuner.
I was a beta tester for the Mac version, so we got to help fine-tune
the thing and I love it. It has all the sweetened tunings, variable
concert pitch settings, a zillion intonation choices, an oscilloscope
and spectrum display, and as many of your own presets, instantly
recallable as you want. The manual is even decent, and oh
yeah, there is a PC version too. It even lights up which string you
are tuning.
The sweetened tunings sound great too.
Evidently it runs nicely with most DAW's launched. I couldn't check
it with Paris since there is no OS9 version.
BTW, it is very stable, more even than the stand-alone versions.
The deluxe version is only 79.00 USD.
I love it, I use it, I complained about the manual and a couple of
non-functional features, and they fixed them asap.
Highly recommended.

Yep, and I'm now more determined than ever to find it.
A friend of mine dropped in night before last after a gig. He's in a drum
and bass band. Brilliant drummer he is. It's a very good band, though I'm
not so into drum and bass, but he was agreeing with me about rock being dead.
He made me a CD of some of his favourite drum and bass recordings in an attempt
to turn me on to some of it. I'll have to give it a few listens and see how
I go. I don't think it's me though.
I think I'm getting old and just wanting to listen to more laid back stuff.
;o) Or maybe I'm just wanting to listen to musicians who's prime goal is
to be good musicians, not to get rich and famous. ;o)

Which model do you recommend, and what have your experiences

you're first in Safe Mode, it can be a good idea to control if there's more

Nothing I say will help you right now, but...
I actually stay away from "+" R's for the same reason.
I have had the most luck with Pioneer burners, too, FWIW.
(had Liteon and LG. Neither inspire confidence.)
Also after making a backup, I always copy it back onto my audio drive just
to make sure it will read.
Always burn a little slower than max, and so far Imation and TDK blanks
have never let me down.
