Hi guys,
I finally have Paris back up and running with Mecs and all.
Now Cubase SX 2.1 doesn't like running because of clocking issues.
I am using a Scope Pro card. Cubase will no longer start up
without Scope running! That's backwards from what was working=20
in the past. Now with both running it's a clickfest along with the=20
inevitable crash as the two are fighting for the hardware resources. =20
With Scope off Cubase gives the white screen of death at start up =
looking for clock.

With Scope off I used to send Paris (XP) ADAT optical to and from 16 =
channels of=20
Scope ADAT. Using Scope card settings at 'Sync/ADAT'. Now, whenever I =
set it=20
to that it doesn't retain the settings and goes back to 'Master/SPDIF'
whether it's plugged into Paris ADAT/SPDIF or not. I've also tried =
another
ADAT machine as the source which had been working while my Mecs were =
down.
That doesn't work either.

What am I missing here?

Thanks,
Tom

Got it. The changes can be made with in Cubase. Didn't find that
the last time through this. I had been going to Scope to change =
settings.
Anyway with some switching and three reboots we are back on track.
No clicks or pops and all ins/outs are working.

Thanks for making me think.
Tom

Dear Tom,
Please do not forget always start first scope and then Cubase !
If you close first scope then you will have a problem and only a restart
of computer can bring things up.
So when closing, close first Cubase and then Scope.
If you wanna cahnge settings, like master/slave, 44.1-48khz, ect, FIRST cloae
Cubase , make settings from within scope envirement and then open Cubase,

Dimitrios

Hey Dimitrios,
Really? I've been very lucky just leaving Scope closed once the =
settings
are correct. I had been making those changes in Scope but they weren't
staying as I left them even though I saved them to a Scope Project. =
They'd switch
right back to unwanted settings and Cubase wouldn't start right.
Of course I'm not using Scope much yet. Just for it's hardware
and softsynths so far in XTC mode.

I got things working when editing the same paramenters for Scope clock, =
sync,
sample rate inside of Cubase.

I seem to be ok again. I have a bunch of mixes that need to be finished =
before
I really implement some of your great ideas. The auto latency comp for =
Paris
is first on the list!!! Is that working for you?
Cheers,
Tom
