You guys have any opinions on the MonstercAble Clean Power rack modules? I
was thinking about picking up a stage 2, ten outlet for $200. Is there really
that much benefit in reduced noise floor and better performance?
Thanks,
B

Smoke and mirrors... IMHO.

WAY too much money for a power bar with a few Varistors, Caps, and
Ferrite beads....

Just go over to Altex Electronics on I35 at Braker and pick up a rack
mountable Tripplite bar. You'll have a better quality unit for around
$30-40.00.

Tripplite Isobar IDR-12. I got mine there and it's still going strong 7
years later.

thanks DJ.
I will see about getting one of these.
What about line conditioning.
Is there a drastic benefit with this feature?
A lot of people swear by it.

Brandon,

I'd say that Monster stuff is expensive hype from my experience. Do you =
need line conditioning? Are you getting lots of line noise? I've got a =
Furman IT10 here that is a balanced power module. I got it *really* =
cheap and I just use it as a glorified (60 lb) power strip. I don't =
think it has lowered my noise floor. I can plug the same piece of gear =
into a wall outlet and the noise floor is the same but I've got good =
power here. I can even drive dear from different outlets on different =
circuits here without hum. If you've got humming gear, you've got a =
grounding issue. If you've got sags and spikes, then get a voltage =
regulator. If you've got line noise, then the IsoBar should work for =
you. I'd try that first. If it doesn't solve your problem, then you can =
return it and go for the Monster if you think it would help.
