Hehe, seriously it is a bit out of control. We do have the "general" group
for political discussions if you want to continue.

Feel free to finish off your topics, but if any new political threads could
go into the General group, that would be just grand! :o)

I do encourage you to continue in the general group however, as I think open
and honest political discussion is important and beneficial. If you really
want I'll even support throwing a little "New political thread" over here
to point people at it, but I think filling up the main group with mostly
political stuff is not really what the group is about, and has been one of
the most common complaints I've seen here over the years about the group.

Don't mean to be the soup Nazi... ;o)

Cheers,
Kim.

What shall we then write about here? I think it will be very, very empty on
the Paris site (or shall I say dead?) since most of the few new things about
Paris now is coming from Greece and Dimitros, as far as I can see ;-)
......But generally, the general site would be to prefer for me too but not a
must ;-o).......

Hey, I've tried to start fights . . . er . . . I mean introduce topics for
discussion on the general page, but it seems not enough people noticed. And
that is what life is all about, isn't it? Being noticed? Me! Me! Over
here!

Hehe, yes I noticed that. You're right. It doesn't seem to gain the attention...

Have you tried putting a link over here pointing people at it...?

I actually want the political discussion to continue, but there is a decent
percentage here who don't like it, and I think we should respect that and
try and keep it off the main group. It's clear it's going to happen no matter
what anybody says anyhow, unless I go all admin on you and start deleting
posts, which I'm not going to do, so if we could find a way to move it AND
still have people pay attention...?

Would it help or hinder if I renamed the group Politics?

Cheers,
Kim.

You're right, but I think the main group should be music and/or at least
technology based...

Some people don't like the whole politics thing, which I can understand...

To be honest though the group has been fairly lively this year IMO compared
to say, around 2003-2004 when it got really quiet at times for weeks on end.

Cheers,
Kim.

I think that since no one ever changes their minds no matter what evedince
may be presented that refutes their lemminglike beliefs, you should have one
thread that says:

Post your thoughts about fuckwad liberals here:

and another that says :

Post your thoughts about asshole neo-cons here:

That way those who just want to vent can do it and the "ventees" can diss
the "ventors" by simply ignoring them.

We can also monitor both threads for turncoat moderates who post to both
threads and diss them at every turn no matter which thread they post to, and
when we get enough of these, turn them in to Rush Limbaugh for a good public
drubbing.
