There is absolutely 0 difference between Sam and Nuendo/C4. I've tried it
so many times they are starting to look alike as well - Samplitude 6, 7 and
8, Sequoia 8, SamSE, Nuendo 3, Cubase 4 - all the same.

He did do one thing which de-enhanced the product but that was quickly
remedied. As an owner and avid user of SAM going back to the days when it
was called SEKD Red Roaster, I was troubled when the company agreed in
2004/5 to be purchased by Logic. I am sure I wasn't the only one to write
Sven when it was announced that Logic would do all the talking as to what
would happen to SAM and they weren't talking. In fact, the first move logic
made was to take the SAM userboard off the air after almost EVERYONE on it
was asking with one voice the same big question. The silence was deafening
and folks began jumping the goodship to Sonar, etc. One of the factors was
Logic's announcement around that time that they were cutting all support for
PC products, period... MAC only.
Finally, news was released that Logic was gonig to regurge SAM. From that
time until now, the communication and product support has been stellar. I
have used it for mastering only and an occasional editing to time. It is a
great tool, looks great, tons of skins out there, great plugs, compressors
are tops, easy to use yet altogether powerful, and I really should give it a
run as full scale multitrack DAW replacement for PARIS as I do see PARIS and
the way I use it becoming increasingly limited as it sits.

I've been a Reaper convert for a little while now.....
Reaper is definitely worth getting even if you still are using PARIS as your
main system, as it can definitely come in handy....I have my current project
up in both systems - I've been tracking in Paris since I have the hardware
and it sounds good, then bringing the files over to Reaper. Being able to
use UAD plugs and SIR on busses with Automatic delay compesation is amazing.
Parallel drum compression with the UAD Fairchild or 1176, plate reverb on
vox or instruments, ...all without even thinking about latency. These can
then be rendered easily and brought back into PARIS. Reaper will also write
your mix directly to mp3 or CD if you so choose. Great stuff...
