I might be able to get a Paris rig, but I'm doing this without ever having heard of paris system or song recorded and mixed in Paris.

Can anyone tell me of a album, or song recorded, mixed and mastered in Paris?

Or link me to yours or one?

Here's some trio jazz I did on PARIS with some buddies years ago for a demo for the jazz festival. Tracked and mixed in PARIS (Mac OS9) using mostly EDS FX with a few VST plugs. Insert obligatory excuse here - two of the three of us were down with the flu.

There's some other demo stuff on the blog; some like the Astrid stuff was extensively created/assembled in other DAWs but mixed in PARIS.

Here's another thread by Gene Lennon where some of the material was tracked in PARIS.

Check out Lou Guarino's CD's. They are very nice sounding and quite interesting as well.

Irreplaceable by George Benson is an album you may also want to check out.

Irreplaceable was not received well by Benson's more traditional jazz fans, because it is primarily a Pop/R&B album that was directed at a much younger audience. It is an interesting listen however. The pop tracks were all recorded, edited and mixed in Paris. All ITB with help from a few nice pieces of hardware. These tracks were recorded at Joshua Thompson's Tallest Tree studios in NJ. (The latest large-scale studio that I have designed.)

Irreplaceable also has a number of jazz instrumental tracks. These were done by a different producer/engineering team in Pro Tools. These tracks were recorded in Avatar NY and some other very highly respected studios around the country.

All of the tracks sound pretty good, but It is very easy to hear the difference between the PT tracks and the Paris tracks. Which sound you prefer is obviously up to you.

Hope this helps.

Gene

Well there's been a lot -

Jason Miles did a tribute to Ivan Lins with Sting, Chaka Khan, Marcus Miller etc a few years back.
The Sting tune won the Grammy for Best Smooth Jazz Vocal I believe.
Carl Amburn has some tracks posted below. All genres, Country, Heavy Rock, Pop RnB, Jazz, Alt Indie have been done. Not easy to grab a disc here or there to post samples...

I'm thinking a Wiki section with "recorded in PARIS", "mixed in PARIS" or "recorded and mixed in PARIS", including links, might be timely. I'll see how quick I can get to it.

Hey, let's not forget "Wayward" by Sarahtonin, recorded and mixed entirely in PARIS. I think it's pretty awesome, though I may be slightly biased.

It's also on iTunes, Rhapsody, and a bunch of that kind of stuff.

Well, for me my favorite is Anthony Smith's "If That Ain't Country" mixed my Brian Tankersley http://www.amazon.com/That-Aint-Country-Anthony-Smith/dp/B00 0068TMU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1250479668&sr=8-1 ...not just for Paris, but for a great mix period...he also mixed some Sawyer Brown and Chad Brock tunes in Paris that were all over country radio...Just remembered there is a Toby Mac record that has some Chris Lord Alge SSL mixes along with some Brian Paris mixes that is a very cool comparison...

A couple I have done that I like that were mixed in Paris are The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band's "Welcome to Woody Creek" http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss?url=search-alias%3Daps& ;amp ;amp ;amp ;field-keywords=woody+creek+dirt+band&x=0&y=0 and Richie Furay's "Heartbeat of Love" http://www.amazon.com/Heartbeat-Love-Richie-Furay/dp/B000PHW 2GI/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1250479587&sr=8-2 Actually, I have mixed his last 4 records in Paris...

Chris Latham did a really nice Guy Clark record called "Workbench Songs"

A big ditto on Jason Miles stuff...

Lot's more out there.....

It's a classic, IMO.

Here's a couple of my old Paris mixes circa 2005. These were tracked to Paris at 44.1, 24 bit. I still enjoy listening to this project.
