Hi,

just re-entered the world of Paris after a few years and have a problem when
I plug my MEC in.

I can boot paris (v3) no problem, but if I have the MEC switched on, I get
Error 2/2 when it tries to initialize the hardware. Then Paris just shuts
down again. I've stripped everything out of my MEC, but its still the same.

My PC is a 'fresh' install of ME with only the Paris software on it (it's
also the same PC I ran paris on years ago, so I know the spec is ok)

anybody tell me what the error means? I'm thinking faulty cable or faulty
MEC (aaargh!)

thanks

Kerr

Paris shouldn't launch at all without an interface attached... or
powered up. Try the EDS in a different slot.

David.

my notes only say to reboot the mec, if that doesn't work I would look at
reseating the cables and trying a different mec/cable which of course no
one has. hmm

thats what I thought, but my version boots without any h/w attached, boots
with the C16, but doesn't with the MEC, hmm....will try different slots

true, although I couldn't get an original MEC cable with the system so I
bought a SCSI II (50pinHD) cable (3M) from a PC cable website with the
assurance from emu it would work. I wonder if there's something different
about the original MEC cable?
