So what's the story, was the pig in an area where you are supposed to hunt?

Yes. On purpose. They have the whole area is fenced so that this is
basically dead pig waiting to happen. Hell man, they should have at least
let the poor thing loose in an urban environment before they went after him
with .50 cal firearms. Fuckin' cowards..

Exactly! Good analogy man. I think that "game ranches" should be required to
be at least 5000 acrea and a hunter should be requred to walk in there with
no weapon at all ........and while he's knappin some flint, he's also gotta
be aware that he's in the 5000 acre cage with not just a few herbivores, but
a bear, a couple of wolves and a cougar......and they are all hungry. the
hunter has 1 week (whether he likes it or not) to finish the hunt (or be
finished by it). It ends when he makes his kill and he can keep the meat or
contribute it to a food bank, or both (I know...I'm such a fuckin commie ;o)

As far as "trophy hunters" are concerned....we give em whatever kind of
weapon they prefer, remove all of the wild game from the 5000 acres, put
three of them in there at a time, provision them for a week and let them
hunt each other. The winner gets the wives or husbands and children of the
losers as trophies (they must sign a "slavery prenup before the hunt ) and
as a special bonus, the winner gets to choose his favorite taxidermist to
stuff and mount the losers (or whatever portions of the losers are
appropriate for the trophy room).

;o)
