brilliant..

TCOK, I'm kinda desperate here....

We open a play in a week and a half that requires one of the
characters to sit at a piano and play. The piano is a shell, and the
music will be coming from a speaker mounted right behind the piano.

The character's wife is narrating the scene, talking about how he
learned to play the piano by just sitting down, pecking away, and
learning.

We start out with a halting, rough version of "The Entertainer". I
recorded that one here.

However, the dialog mentions that "all of a sudden, he'd be playing
like a maestro" and the music is supposed to quickly segue into
completely competent playing -- first "The Entertainer" again, but
done well (maybe 6 or 8 measures), then segues quickly through a short
medley of 5 or 6 typical piano pieces (era is the 40's, and these are
short song chunks... again, roughly 30 sec each) like you'd hear at a
Shakey's, then finishing off with the closing bars of "The
Entertainer" again.

The lady who recorded the halting version, bless her heart, just isn't
up to the "maestro" part, and the ones she recorded sound rather
rough.

Anyone with a good memory for pizza parlor songs willing t
