Can one digitally (virtually) route the outputs of a Subgroup or the Global
Master out of Paris via the Patchbay and back again? and if so how?

Thanks

Don

Don, are you wanting to affect the signal before bringing it back in (like
putting an external compressor)?

I'm not sure if you're looking for external inserts or the "wire" plugin
which can be used to route signals.

I would like to send the output of a sub group or the global master out of
paris (digitally) to another rig for processing and then back (digitally)
into paris.

So the question is where are the routing points in the patch bay...would
that be the Mec Master dL & dR? also what are L & R on the inserts attached
to...the subgroup main out?

I've only 1 EDS card at the moment, so I'm not sure if this is available for
a submix - I'm guessing its not.

In the Global mixer window, select Settings-->Show Inserts. Add the External
insert.

Then open the patch bay and drag Mixer-A Insert onto the playing field. You
will see on the far right that there is a set of inserts for L and R. Wire
these to MEC Master-A dL / dR for your digital connections. Or whatever I/O
you want to use.

Don, my guess is that you probably externally brought it back into another
submix on a aux in or a set of channels but you'd have to (and I'm shooting
in the dark here) find some way to get signal out of the submix you're
bussing and shut it down in the global mix. Not sure that is possible.
