That I received my PARIS bundle two from sweetwater. They didn't have the
bundle three yet, but I traded up a couple months later.

Hi Chuck,
Yes - You are correct !!
At this time - we also had just delivered the very first
commercially avaialble 1GHZ computers , This was the Q-Performance Kryo-Tech
super G with AMD under the hood :)
I think you started the text news forum in Jan 78 - Yes ?

oops.....didn't mean to start a separate thread...

Right around this time mine showed up at my local ensoniq retailer. I had
already spent about $2000.00 for a computer with at Pentium 200, 512MB of
RAM running Windows 95 an IDE system drive, CD burner and and a pair of 2G
Seagate Barracuda SCSI drives.

After all hardware and software was loaded, Paris crashed nonstop, no matter
what slot, IRQ it was using.

I think the forum started more around Jan of 88, or was it 98 :-) I do that
all the time!

Yup me two. Sometime in Nov of '97 my bundle 2 showed up. I dug it then
and still dig it now. Upgraded within six months to the MEC with one 8-in.
Currently, two MEC's, three 8-in's, three EDS's, two C16s and two IF2s.
Still get compliments on how rich and warm the sound is.

July next year is my ten year Paris anniversary.

Must make sure the system is working again by then. ;o)

I wonder if we can think up some kind of appropriate celebrations for the
ten year NG anniversary. Might at least signal time for me to do an update
of the links page. ;o)

Cheers,
Kim.

My first Paris project started soon after I received my system. He had done
the drum, keyboard and bass parts/arrangements in and old Yamaha synth and
we tracked it from the mono output. I tried to "stereoize" it and then I
dubbed the guitars while he and his buddies tracked the vocals. I hadn't
played a guitar in a while really wasn't expecting to have to. I didn't know
WTF I was doing behind the board either.......not at all.......but it was
fun.

I'll never forget the horror I felt when I heard that tracks from this were
being played on Dr. Demento and that one of them was featured in some frat
movie........as if this was about me at all.

;o)

Here you all can listen to my first project with Paris, from 1999.
"Marvelous" what we could/can do in a small appartment with acoustic
instruments and some synths. I had the controllroom in a little
bedroom and we used 2 small rooms for the recordings, the biggest was
about 13X13 feet.

I got married in September 97 and whenI returned from my honeymoon, I got
a call from my (Then-Real) pro audio rep @ GC. LamOnt we got PAris is you've
got to hear it. I went down, played the then "See it my way" demo.. Was floored,
not by the demo, but "the Sound Quality". Then Reverb (Plate).

I was already set to get a Pro Tools Mix 3 system. But, after many personal
demos of the two systems, I want with Paris..March 98..
