What is the skinny on Liquid Mix? Is it equal, better or worse than UAD1
in quality?

I like it better-

Can't really vouch for the "reality" factor, as in "sounds just like the
original",
but it produces 3 dimensional results with lots of control and variations.

I just can't use it with Paris on Mac. I use it with Logic, Soundtrack Pro
etc...

The more I use it the more I like it. I haven't gotten really deep into it,
it has a cool feature where you can select different emulations of the EQ
section for up to seven bands. So you can have the low end shelf from a Focusrite
and the mid range band from a Pultec and the high from a Neve console.

I've been planning on running some drums and vox through the emulations that
are on both the UAD and the LM. I'll post a link that here when I get around
to it.

I had (3) Liquid Channels at one point, so I'm quite familir with the Liquid
Technology and am aware of what's coming down the pipeline (it's awesome!!).
But the LiquidMix is truly unique in a world of other DSP-based processors
and one I also love to use.

It's really quite nice. With so many machines starved for PCI slots the firewire
interface is great.

The only thing I wish they would improve is the interface. The UAD thing,
a photo version of the actual device, would be best, but at least in the
manual they should have pictures of the originals and explanations about
how to use the plugs. Things like a Pultec is not always easy to get one's
head around. I'm working on getting pics of everything next to where I mix
so I'll have a reference.

P.S. Also, I don't have many of the originals, but I'll say this, the damn
thing sounds great and the different models sound different. It isn't 12
variations on a theme.
