Seriously - I'd give you de Jamaica flag if I could do so mon, but that's handled automatically by FUDforum, which associates your posting IP with its nation of origin. Best I can manage myself is a nice Jamaican flag avatar, but there's another workaround that might appeal to you more - use this as an excuse to travel to Jamaica and post from dere mon!

I'll always have a soft spot for the Jamaican Bobsled Team. I was there when they debuted '88 at the Winter Games in Calgary. I was playing bass with kd lang at the ceremonies, and between performances I remember the entire band watching in disbelief, amusement and awe.

She's a truly amazing singer from Alberta BC; started out doing more art music but came to fame as a (sort of) reincarnation of Patsy Cline. She has an amazing voice; she started singing Joni Mitchell's "Dry Cleaner From Des Moines" before rehearsal once and since I knew the bass part we jammed on it - she nailed it note-perfect. Haven't heard much music from her lately, hope she's got something brewing.
