If I am going to insert hardware components (compressors, etc) into the
individual channels do I need the output units or how is this done. I'm used
to only working with software.

Thanks

Barry

In order to insert external hardware on a playback track,
you have to connect the input of the external device to a
physical output on the 442, MEC or output modules. The
output of the external device is then patched to a matching
input on the same 442, MEC etc to complete the loop. In the
Paris patchbay, you make the software connection for the
insert point. The track insert EDS effect "External" would
also need to be selected to make this work.

What is your Paris hardware compliment?

David.

Don't have one yet, but am considering some sort of compressor.
