Hello all, I have a problem I haven't experienced before.
I have a fresh install of 3.0 on a new XP machine, single core but with Mr. Audits new drivers. Paris will boot and I can load in
projects and audio, however no response at all, I get all windows, but no playback, no C16 action, just dead, it won't respond in any way, I haven't found any info in the forum with the same issue.
All lights blink as if it wants to work properly, card shows up,
Mec blinks, looks like it should work, I'm scratching my head?
Any ideas? Thanks much, Johnny

Hi John,

I wonder if it is the EDS card not seated right. Also try to find out if your PCI slot is 3.3v or 5v just in case.

It sounds like the software loaded OK so I'm thinking it might be hardware.

The Paris XP install is 3 part. Drivers, then Paris, then subsystem.

MEC should have a solid sync and sample lights once Paris is launched.

The card won't physically fit if it's the wrong voltage...

This would happen to me once in a while and if I'm not mistaken every time it was because I didn't have any modules i.e the MEC Master, MEC Module and a Mixer loaded in the patch bay window.

or

I hadn't assigned any in /out cards to the MEC Module in the Patch Bay

The C16 will act weird if you have the wrong type selected.

If you've got the black classic then uncheck the C16 pro in the setting window.

If you've got the blue pro, vice versa.

Thanks to you all for your responses, I am still having a
problem, I am starting to suspect a conflict with the
NVidea graphics card, anyone have a problem with this
type of video card. I did get the audio to play, then
the machine went black and crashed several times, at this time I am
resetting the card, and doing a reinstall of the drivers,
I will keep you posted, thanks, Johnny

i got a nvdia video card and no problem. Maybe you can check the IRQ on all PCI devices in hardware panel, verifying no IRQ is shared with EDS cards, nor between diferent EDS.
problem is there's no way to change this : just plug them in difernt slots in this case.

Update: It seems I may have a dead EDS 1000 card, I traded out
the one I was using for a different one and everything seems
to be working correctly, thanks to you all for responding in
time of need, that's what makes this site so valuable to the
Paris community, cheers to Kerry and Mike and all who make up
the team!
Still rocking on Paris! Johnny
