Hiya fellas! And gals!

Hey, the house I lived in for 12 years with the PARIS studio in it has
been sold, and I had to move out. Waaaa! BUT . . . the owner let me take
all the recording gear with me cuz he doesn't know how to use it anyway and
thinks it's too old. Yay! BUT . . . I don't really have a studio anymore,
at least not with the nice separate control room with the little window,
etc. I just have a big old finished basement with a strange little room
attached. The space is mostly carpeted, except for about the last 8 of the
32 foot length, which is linoleum. Low ceiling w/ ceiling tiles (8'? maybe
even 7')

I attached a crude diagram of the space that I drew in Photoshop in
hopes of getting some opinions on how best to set up the studio and what to
do with that little room. (Yeah, I know, I used the " inches symbol instead
of the ' foot symbol, but no, it's not a doll house. Just translate to feet
please.) Vocal/drum booth? Machine room? Hookah lounge? Do I need to
barter with some carpenter/songwriter to build me a wall for a separate
control room? Also, what about cheap sound-proofing? I have a bunch of
Auralex bass traps and a few panels, but not enough for the whole space.

Anyway, I need to get set up soon as I can, cuz we had to dismantle the
studio right in the middle of the rhythm tracks for the new Sarahtonin CD,
which is promising to be even better than the first, if that's possible. :)
