You guys are forgetting something:

Can you get the stock EQ to do the same thing, or is it only the 'BIG EQ'?

The reason I'm asking.... Edmund wrote the UI code for the 'Big EQ', and
the 'Big EQ' communicates the parameters to the EDS effect.

It's entirely possible there's a bug in the UI code that is only manifested
under one OS.

Chuck, are you meaning by "stock" not using the graphic, but instead using
the knobs? It's the same eq, just a different way of accessing it, right?
I see what your saying though, I'll check it.

I just checked that. It does the same thing...distorts wildly under ME but
only mildly distorts under xp using the stock eq UI, just like the Big EQ
UI.

I have no idea where this is going but I need to solve another related issue
under XP. If I open my fridge while XP is running a nearby laptop, I tend
to distort more than if ME is running upstairs on the desktop machine. And
then there's these beer belches that seem to have nothing to do with XP or
ME making it really hard to tell what's impacting what and how. Got the
when and where though.... fridge door. Goin' there....
