Hi all. As I mentioned about a dozen times before, a lot of things have been put off while I whip the studio into shape. Things are shaping up nicely, the first session's in a couple of weeks, and now it's time to kick the PARIS ball forward a bit on a number of fronts.
It will be great to flesh out the Wiki a bit more, and with that in mind I'd like to announce a friendly competition for Top Wiki Contributor, with candidates being judged in May. The prizewinner will receive much-coveted Mike Audet PARIS software.
Ideal entries would flesh out the Latency Database, start a Working Plugins database, document some history (for example, create a PARIS timeline with solid dates for launch, product release, software updates, discontinuation etc) - or use your imagination, what do we need up there that we don't have yet? Workflow? Patching schemes? Tips and tricks?
Entries will be judged on size, relevance and usefulness. They need not be original - for example, someone wishing to take part but not sure what to contribute could comb the NG archives and pull out more info (the forum gives you some new search tools which should ease the task). For example, error messages and their diagnosis/solutions could be culled out and entered in the Error Codes Compendium.
There are also lots of things to port over from Steve or John's sites - so even folks who don't reckon they have much to say have every bit as good a shot at winning cool free plugs. The only things I'd have to rule out are copyrighted material (such as scanning the manual) or material not relevant to PARIS (and assume Mike and I are disqualified from the competition
I'll post a clear, easy-to-use primer outlining the process for editing the Wiki shortly (it's really a snap, you just double click on the page and type).
Have fun, and may the best contributor win!
- Kerry
