I'm running an AMD 64 3700 CPU in one DAW and an AMD 64 4400 x 2 CPU in
another DAW. Both have similar mobo's. This 3700, while not faster, is
amazingly quick in comparison. I'm just wondering if the dual core
architecture actually may not be as efficient as single core, or if the
700MB difference in processing power is just overkill for what I'm trying to
accomplish here (which is not much really in terms of stressing a CPU to the
max). In any event, it might be a nice CPU for a Paris rig. I heard that the
Gigabyte GA-K8NS Ultra 939 mobos were compatible with Paris and the AMD
3700's though I never tried it. this might be a killer Paris rig running XP
and using high end VST's like the URS and Waves SSL bundle, etc.

I'm running my Cubase rig on these mobos and they are pretty hard to come
by. I have purchased 4 x of them, two have died within a monthso I'm only
batting 500. I also have one of the GA-K8NS 939's (not Ultra) here. It
doesn't have the dual bios, Sil RAID, dual LAN or the FW connectivity of the
"Ultra" version, but it's fast and stable. These are much easier to come by
than the Ultra versions and might make a good option for Parisites.
