Seeing "using MS-DOS compatibility mode file system" is your problem I believe
and is a driver problem apparently. I don't remember the cure but the internet
says

and
"goto start run and type REGEDIT do a search for NOIDE where ever you find
this instance delete it from the registry."

Data cannot be streamed fast enough.Change PB settings or use a faster drive

they are in the project window under settings. as to what will work for
you depends on your computer ie ram, disk performance, vcache
in your sys edit and the settings on your dma. for me i use 96,48,8192,
but they have changed from one paris version to another.
if you have a prg that measures you disk input and output rates you can
use those numbers to set paris up for optimal use. go to
purgatorycreek.com where there is a program (free) to analyze your
drives.

Let me understand: if you are using 64K I/O you really don't need more
than 10-16 MB of cache. More cache MAY be causing you problem in that it
may force the PC to use too much VM.
Do this:
- Change the disk cache to 12 MB,
- Make sure that there is a line in your system configuration to limit the
dynamic Windows cache (or you will get playback for 10-60 seconds, then
"disk too slow."
This should easily get you full 16 tracks of playback.

If I recall correctly there is a bus mastering or Mode check box that
WinME/98 has a nasty habit of unchecking that hoses the works like this. I
haven't run 98/me in years, but I bet you can find it in the properties
tab.... thinking either under the IDE controller or directly on the HD
properties in the Hardware Manager.

Hi, Aaron. Thanks for the tips on bus mastering mode. Unfortunately, my PARIS
rig is still dead in the water.
I haven't heard of the Official Paris list you speak of. Tell me more...

John,
I appreciate your response. I was unable to find any references to NOIDE
in the registry.
If all else fails, I may try a total reload of the operating system and PARIS
3.0.
Does ID still issue codes to unlock 3.0 when you install a new system?

Kerry Galloway has been doing a fine job collecting as much data on
users/systems/debugging and such as is available and keeping up the new
Paris WIKI site. I'll step to the side and let him take over on the
specifics on this and where to find the info/how to get on the list.
