Man, this dude just inspires me with his fantastic outlook on life, and how
real a guy he is.

I saw him tonight for the first time in a long while, and I'm just
impressed. He's full of love and sunshine, and hope. He's got something
cooking with George Duke and has been working with Chaka Khan on the jazz
cruise.

Hey there Aaron, what's happeninnnnnnnnnn'? Wow, this cat is optomistic, his
music really projects his ultimate positivity........ Makes one more
appreciative of what you have before it's gone.

Thanks for that bud,
Rich

Hi all,

I am new to the newsgroup and am having some problems with Paris. The
following error comes up: "An error occured during playback. The data
could not be read fast enough from disk. Try adjusting the system playback
parameters, or use a faster drive." Every time I try adjusting the disk
cache size and overview cache size and go back into Paris, it locks the
computer. This happens in both 2.2 and 3.0 versions. Any idea to why this
might be happening? I'd really appreciate some help on this. I'm trying to
meet a deadline on a recording.

Take care,

John Solinski

John,

Don't know how much help I can give, but first a couple questions:

1 How many tracks are you running
2 What kind of drive are you using?
3 How much RAM are you working with.
4 What settings are you using for disk cache and overview cache.

It's a starting point.

I'll add a very important one - what OS are you using? If you're on a
PC, this is the wiki entry on it so far -
http://www.kerrygalloway.com/WikiPARIS/wikka.php?wakka=DataN otFast

On the other hand, if you're on Mac - although my Mac OS9 days are long
behind me I seem to recall that if you assign memory *inside* PARIS (ie
in the config window) you need to also add memory to the PARIS app - do
it by quitting, selecting the app, doing "get info" and upping the
memory allocation to the app in the resulting window. Not doing this
can cause lockups even if you have lots of RAM, because the config is
basically telling the app to use more RAM than the OS has assigned to
it. Also don't assign it too much of your physical memory - leave lots
of unassigned RAM for normal OS operations plus any VST plugs you're
using (if I recall, their RAM usage isn't part of the PARIS allocation).
