Guys,

After thinking this through a bit more, I realized that my carefully
conceived plans took everything into account but Crash himself. He doesn't
really take well to being handled by strangers and it pretty much subject to
copping a very uncooperative attitude with stuff like this when put in an
unfamiliar environment. Stressing him to this degree on top of a long and
uncomfortable vehicle trip and then putting him in a situation wherein some
stranger is poking and prodding him will just not work and what will happen
is that I'll be in Denver, on the cusp of a weekend, needing to hire some
vet who is a stranger to come over to this facility to give him mild
sedation. We have a local vet who does housecalls and who Crash likes come
over here and help us do the whole procedure here. Once the brace is
fabricated, if it has problems, then I can bring him to Denver for a
retooling session without introducing him to such an ordeal. These big dogs
are surprisingly fragile when it comes to stress and all sorts of negatives
can result.

Maybe Aaron and I can plan a Denver, part 2 next spring, or we could all get
together here or in some other cool place like Taos or Sante Fe and have
some fun.

Just wanted to let you guys. I hope this didn't hose your plans for nrext
weekend. I know some of you cleared the decks for us so I wanted to let you
know ASAP.

Santa Fe would work for me, as well, depending on my schedule!

Well.........I'm certainly game. It's only about 4 hours from here. Closer,
timewise, than Denver.

;o)

It's about 4 1/2 or 5 from here... do-able without it being
a big PITA kind of drive.
