Hi all,
I just upgraded a couple of plugins, namely Guitar Rig 2 and Amp Farm 3 and wanted to share a couple of brief observations.
I am extremely impressed with Amp Farm 3, although I only used one or two settings last night but played for a couple hours. It has a definite amp feel and response, especially for bluesy tones, which is mainly what I've tried so far. This is a big improvement over previous versions. The downside of course is that it's a TDM plug, but for those of you who also use TDM systems, it's worth checking out.
I was much less impressed with guitar rig 2, which sounded sterile by comparison. It's still a nice plugin, but seems to excel more in the effects and mic placement aspects, rather than amp emulation IMO. I'll have to fool around with it more. I've used GR 1 quite a bit, but this didn't feel like a big sonic leap to me yet.
Cheers,
TC

Hey TC, I am brand new to the forum but I believe I was the first in Wisconsin
to purchase Paris. These plugins you are refering to, are they for the Paris
w/ MEC? Steve

Hi Steve,
Sorry for the delayed response here..
Ampfarm 3 is for TDM ProTools only. I've not tried Guitar Rig with Paris, so I'm not sure, but I know Amplitube works with Paris, so guitar rig might.
Also, I think they are releasing a new version of Amplitube soon, so that might be worth checking out.
Cheers,
TC
